Operation & Maintenance Team Leader/Water Station
Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for Operation & Maintenance Team Leader/Water Station (8 positions).
Work place: AZRAQ Camp
Monthly Basic Salary Range: 814 JOD
Main Objective :
To ensure that the water supply stations are correctly operated and maintained to provide drinking water to Azraq refugee camp.
Specific Objectives:
Objective 1: Perform the activities needed to operate the water station:
Perform the operational tasks for the processes of filling and supplying water in and out of the station.
Operate, monitor and maintain the chlorine dosage pump.
Monitor, record and follow up with the operation records, such as buffer readings, PH readings, CL readings and needs for the disinfection.
Coordinate with the operators at the borehole with regards to the process of pumping water to the station.
Identify and perform the maintenance needs in the station, supplied materials needs such as fuel for the pumps, oil for generators or any other related tasks on daily bases.
Keep the water station clean, functional and safe from technical and security perspectives.
Ensure applying the WASH SOPs inside the station.
Objective 2: Perform needs in term of maintenance, repairing or improvement for the water network and station
To assess the needs in term of small repairing in water supply system, prepare and present a BOQ for maintenance performed on daily bases and equipment and ensure the items delivered are of sufficient quality.
To repair minor leakages and broken items on a water network and water pumping station such as pipes, valves, pumps and water meters.
To follow the Water Safety Plan and ensure all repairs/work on the network conforms to the plan.
To notify the line manager on major repairs in the Water network and supply stations.
Objective 3: Lead, Monitor and provide sufficient technical resources to the daily workers.
Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to the daily workers, specifies their daily work plans and to ensure that they have the necessary tools and equipment on a daily basis.
To train the daily workers on basic plumbing, basis construction and recording of information and the results.
To provide the workers with sufficient resources for them to completed their jobs.
Objective 4: Provide routine reports with accurate information.
To fill up a daily form of related maintenance performed in the related area of responsibilities.
To collect daily information from the water supply stations and to fill the daily reports for the water quantity and quality.
To write a weekly activity report and to contribute to a monthly activities report.
To ensure all information collected is accurate and submitted on time.
Report progress and difficulties and needs to the line manager.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Academic Background
2 years Technical certificate in Plumping or equivalent, and professional experience in water facilities’ (stations) operation and maintenance.
Personal requirements:
Very good level of technical skills, Dynamism, good organizing capacity, good leadership and communication skills, knowledge in technical work safety procedures.
